Kingsage defense simulator
by Arxleol on Saturday 23.01.2010, under Java, KAdef
Yesterday, I was wandering what would be the best defense no matter resources. And from that initial idea I developed this very simple application that may be used for optimizing your defensive structure.
On the right side you may see that program allows input of population, by default population is set to maximum number of soldiers in case settlement is fully built.
Also application allows input of existing units. After you click on Start sim button you will in fact see that other units were filled in to maximize that is optimize defense points. Usually, you will see higher defense points for archers because of my assumption that squires are best unit to defend against cavalry and archer units. Meanwhile, the most useful unit for defense against infantry is considered to be archer.
After simulation ends you will also be able to see how much resources is needed for gaining that many units.
If you have any suggestion or idea that might be fitted into this program please feel free to suggest.
To run application download rar file. Unrar this folder and run KAdef.jar in case something is wrong and you cannot start application check if you have java installed.
P.S. Please put requests ideas and similar for other scripts and apps available on axino.net in their respective folders.
Regards,
Ax

Your getting smarter by the day. This looks nice. Personally i like at least 1500 BK in my sets. But this seems more Resource conscious.

Hello,
Thanks, I would appreciate bug report if something occurs. I am not using BKs in game yet since my settlements are really close. But if you want to see what happens in case you add 1.5k bks then just enter bks in and click Start sim. App should adjust

It would be nice to have some radio buttons indicating heavy towards Infantry or Calvary and it would output suggested builds. Maybe a 60% Infantry 40% Calvary and it would give combos for best defense.

Nice idea I will see what I can do about it.

Couple of questions I have. When I run this it likes to build more squires then anything. If I keep it blank and run it at 45000 POP I end up with:
32143 Squires
12857 Long Bows
Inf:8357100
Cav:8357150
Arch:10928600
This is where I get confused with this particular build is it saying I have the best defense against archers? Where are those number’s derived from.

You wouldn’t even have to create radio button you could just allow the user to type A percentage in the
Cav:
Inf:
Arch:
Box and it would shoot out troops accordingly.
For instance I want 70 percent Inf defense 20 Percent Cav and 10 Percent Arch. I would simply fill those numbers hit run Sim and get a good build to keep my set protected.

Yes, this means that you have best defense against archers but also it means that you are topping maximum possible infantry and cavalry defense.
This deviation arrives from the fact that the best unit for defense against cavalry and longbow units is squire.
All data used for simulation comes from help page table units on kingsage.

For the second part I am afraid I do not understand clearly how would radio buttons help.
Sunday 24.01.2010 on 22:25
Im saying no to radio buttons.
Sunday 24.01.2010 on 22:34
Now I understand you even less

And its out

I was just saying it would be nice to to enter how you want your village built. No radio buttons needed. Just put your percentage for each CAV,INF,ARCH and it would spit out what troops you need to build accordingly.

I can do that as guideline for algorithm to prefer certain defense.
