Yet again we have to solve mission by splitting image.

Check out source code and you will find that background image behind the following text is gif image.

Download it and this time I suggest you also try out gif splitter which is free and easy to use program to split one gif image frames into separate images.

On the fifth frame you will find following text written:

To solve this mission you should think as a n00b, at least that is what’s introduction to mission.

Now I am not sure whether this should be correct solution or not, but the problem is that I tried almost everything I could remember and finally I might have started to think like n00b and so I just adjusted URL and it worked.

Now that you have reached level 16 let’s solve this mission probably one of the most intriguing.

Since, you see only UNAVAILABLE on the page check source code:

You may notice that road to level 17 is to enter to folder images.

Though it looks like there is nothing on this page, check out the source code once again. You will find following line:

Now let’s open this image:

Notice that as in previous case it is either none valid photo or just shows link of itself. Let’s download this image and open it with notepad. On the very first line you should notice following file name: Ducky.php.

Now interesting thing with this challenge is you do not need to search for clues on the page for images or anything else, but link to the image is offered to you. So let’s try and open it.

Now if you open this image there is high probability that you will not see a thing, more interesting is that Firefox is able to show you this image. But since I tried this challenge in Google Chrome at first I noticed that image is not valid. And even if you save image on your system and try to open it you will see message something like invalid image or similar.

Of course I am talking about following image:

Now since this image is not valid this can only mean that it is not formatted correctly and that there is some data hidden inside. So what you should do now is to open image in the notepad or some other simple text editor.

This is the code you will see when opening image contents in the notepad. Notice the following line: Level 16: unavailable now this gives us important clue how to proceed. We will just enter unavailable as folder and see what we get. So the URL for level 16 is following:

For level 14 we simply need to figure out which gif file should be used and how to open gifs.

So I have already explained how you can open gif files. In fact I have explained how to add support for gif files in paint.net. Next step is to figure out which gif file we should download. Now there are two gifs, logo.gif and bidvertiser.gif.

If you try to open logo.gif you will see only one layer, however if you open bidvertiser.gif you will see multiple layers last layer is our solution.

Level 13 is classical steganography challenge.If you examine source code of the page you will notice that text Level 13 is in fact image. And if you look at this image carefully notice that inside last l letter is written following text:

4.xml

If you open this XML file you will find that data file is in fact 4xml.php so let’s open that URL for level 14:

Level 12 also may be misleading with the following comment on the page:

3 letters change everything. Look carefully!

However, if you check source code you will find this line of code:

Now, since we see that logo is different. Now just open logo, and zoom in. In firefox you can do it by holding ctrl and scrolling wheel on the mouse. After, enlarging image on Russia you may notice following letter written:

puta php

Common sens logic makes it that we try that URL:

So I decided to finish tutorials on hackertest.net. Level 11 is very easy you just need to examine source code and avoid traps like logos and background images. On the first hand mission looks very similar to previous one, but after careful examining of the code, you’ll find following line:
